Your friendships in Disney Dreamlight Valley are about to become more magical than ever.
In the upcoming Pixel Perfect update, Level 10 friendships are evolving into something brand new: Best Friends 👯♀️

What is the Best Friends feature?
Best Friends is a brand-new friendship system that unlocks once a Villager reaches Friendship Level 10.
Instead of friendship progression ending there, you'll unlock a daily Best Friends Bar that can be filled through friendship interactions. Filling this bar unlocks special perks, including Best Friends Sprint, max-level profession bonuses for all roles, and the ability to fast travel directly to your Best Friends.
What happens when a Villager becomes my Best Friend?
When a Villager reaches Friendship Level 10:
- Their Friendship Star transforms into a glowing Gold Heart Bar💛
- While hanging out with a Best Friend, players receive all profession bonuses and unlock Best Friends Sprint
The Best Friends Bar resets every day at 5:00 AM local time, giving you a fresh opportunity to strengthen your bond each day.
How do I fill the Best Friends bar?
Just like regular friendship progression, you can earn Best Friends progress by spending time with your Villager.
Some ways to increase progress include:
- Chatting with them each day
- Giving them their favorite gifts
- Serving them at the restaurant
- Hanging out with them around the Valley
Once the bar is full, your Villager is ready to become your Best Friend for the day!
What is the Best Friend Glow?
The Best Friend Glow is a special powered-up state that becomes available once you've filled a Villager's Best Friends Bar.
While hanging out with a Best Friend, you'll receive:
- Access to Best Friends Sprint
- Max-level profession bonuses for all roles
- A heart icon above your Best Friend to indicate their status
How long does the Best Friend Glow last?
The Best Friend Glow lasts for a limited amount of gameplay activities.
Using Best Friends Sprint consumes your Best Friend Glow, so you'll want to use it wisely during your adventures together.
Whether you're mining, gardening, fishing, digging, foraging, Timebending, or catching Snippets, you'll enjoy the highest possible profession bonuses while your Best Friend Glow is active.
Each Villager's Best Friend Glow can be activated once per day, so plan your activities carefully to get the most out of your powered-up hangout!
How do I fast travel to my Best Friend?
Once a Villager reaches Friendship Level 10, you can fast travel directly to them from the Map.
Simply select an eligible Villager and choose Travel to instantly arrive at their location in the Valley. If your Best Friend is indoors, you'll appear just outside the building they're currently in.
It’s a quick and convenient way to reach your Best Friends wherever they may be.
Can my Best Friend help me gather resources?
Absolutely!
Your Best Friends can set off into the Valley to help collect resources through Item Assist, a feature that unlocks at Friendship Level 7. Pick one item related to their role, and they’ll spend the day gathering more of it for you.
Item Assist can collect rare items, including Shiny Gems, but cannot collect event-exclusive or quest-exclusive items.
Come back the next day to collect what they’ve brought back.
When can I start using Best Friends?
The Best Friends system arrives with the Pixel Perfect Update on July 29. Once the update is live, any Villager who has already reached Friendship Level 10 will be ready to begin their journey toward becoming your Best Friend.
Item Assist is unlocked separately at Friendship Level 7, so players can begin using that feature before reaching Best Friend status.
